Most Melville Candy products are made to order. Standard production lead time is generally 12 to 15 business days before shipment. Seasonal demand, custom work, order size, ingredient availability, and warm-weather shipping requirements may extend this timeline.

Order Minimums

The minimum opening wholesale order and reorder amount is $200.

Wholesale customers receive free FedEx Ground small-parcel shipping on qualifying orders over $400. Free shipping does not apply to expedited shipping, warm-weather shipping upgrades, freight shipments, inside delivery, liftgate service, or other accessorial charges unless explicitly stated.

Payment Terms

Melville Candy Company accepts MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, check, and ACH payments. Online payment options may also include PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

A finance charge of 15% per month will be applied to all past-due balances. The customer is responsible for all collection costs.

Melville Candy Company does not extend payment terms as a standard policy. Credit terms may be considered for high-volume retailers, hotels, museums, hospital gift shops, and government agencies following successful completion and approval of a customer credit application.

For accounts previously grandfathered into Net 30 terms:

  • Accounts 15 days past due may be returned to credit-card terms without prior notice unless the account is actively communicating with Melville Candy Company.
  • Melville Candy Company reserves the right to revoke payment terms at any time and reinstate prepaid terms.

Cancellations

Cancellations must be requested within 24 hours of placing an order. Cancellations requested after 24 hours may incur a 15% restocking fee.

Damages, Defects, Returns & Incorrect Orders

Damage or defect claims must be reported to info-ws@melvillecandycompany.com within one week of receiving the order. Photographs of all damaged or defective goods are required.

Merchandise approved for return must remain unopened and in its original packaging. Returns should not be shipped until instructions or authorization have been provided by Melville Candy Company.

If a retailer receives an incorrect order, Melville Candy Company will ship the correct order at its expense. At Melville Candy Company's discretion, a prepaid call tag may be issued for return of the incorrect product.

Shipping

Shipping is not included in the cost of goods unless a qualifying free-shipping offer applies. Shipping charges will be calculated at the time of payment and added to the relevant invoice.

The standard shipping method is FedEx Ground small-parcel delivery.

From mid-April through September, depending on temperature and destination, orders may ship by FedEx 2-Day with cold packs to reduce the risk of melting. Customers in consistently warm climates may also require FedEx 2-Day service with cold packs. Additional shipping charges will apply when upgraded service or cold packs are required.

Freight damage is the responsibility of the carrier. Customers should retain the shipment, packaging, and supporting photographs while a freight claim is reviewed.

Free-Shipping Promotions

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, a free-shipping promotion applies only to FedEx Ground small-parcel delivery. It does not apply to expedited service, warm-weather upgrades, freight shipping, inside delivery, liftgate fees, or other accessorial charges.

Freight Shipments

Melville Candy Company is not responsible for inside-delivery charges or liftgate fees. If these services are required but not specified when the order is placed, any resulting charges will be billed to the customer.

Chocolate products shipped between April and October may require expedited service and ice packs at the customer's expense. Additional shipping charges may apply.

Online orders estimated to weigh more than 400 lbs. will receive a temporary $200 hold to account for potential LTL or freight charges. Final freight costs will be reflected when shipment arrangements are completed.

Back Orders

Unavailable items are handled according to our Back Order Policy. Orders will not automatically be held to ship complete unless the customer requests this when placing the order.

MSRP

Products must be sold at or above the manufacturer's suggested retail price, or MSRP, displayed by Melville Candy Company.

Approved Sales Channels

Melville Candy products may be sold at approved physical retail locations and on the approved retailer's own business website.

Sales on Amazon, Walmart, other third-party marketplaces, wholesale websites, or other third-party sales channels require advance written approval from Melville Candy Company. Approval applies only to the specific SKUs and sales channels identified in writing. Approval for one SKU or channel does not authorize other Melville products or additional marketplaces.

Melville Candy Company may limit a marketplace-approved account to an approved assortment. Products outside the approved assortment may not be listed or sold through the marketplace.

Product Storage & Quality

For maximum freshness and shelf life, store hard candy in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight.

Hard candy should not be stored from one holiday season to the following year. Humid climates can cause color breakdown because the candy is not vacuum cooked and retains moisture. Melville Candy Company cannot issue credits for product breakdown caused by humidity, unstable temperatures, or other regional weather conditions.

"Best By" dating is a consumption date and is not a guarantee of color quality.

Product Weights

Product weights are available in Melville Candy price lists, catalogs, and online product information.

Order Acceptance

An electronic or written order confirmation does not constitute final acceptance of an order. Melville Candy Company may accept, decline, adjust, or supply less than the requested quantity when necessary. If an item is unavailable, the Back Order Policy will apply.

Taxes

Applicable sales taxes will be collected and remitted where required. Customers remain responsible for taxes, exemptions, or documentation not collected through the store when required by law.

Pricing Errors

Melville Candy Company may refuse or cancel an order containing an incorrect price caused by a typographical or system error. If payment has already been collected for a canceled item, the applicable amount will be refunded.
